Just a quick question (I hope).

The house fuse box is an old wire type. The solar panels currently have a dedicated RCD/MCD fusebox fitted nearby.

If at some point in the future, I get the house fuse box replaced with an up to date RCD/MCD style, is it possible to replace both with a single box with both the house fuses and the solar fuse, and if so would the electrician need to be MCS registered? Would I need to update my FIT registration or inform the electric company I'm registered with?

thanks,

Matthew

Yes, that wouldn't be a problem and the electrician would not need to be MCS.

You must make sure that the electrician does not fit the PV system to an RCD unless he has to - and if he has to, make sure it is a seperate RCD to the rest of the circuits.
