Clearly not a Professional or even Semi Professional.

They would NOT:
Leave the cables in such disarray.
Use non ratchet crimpers.
Throw heat sleeve onto the ground then use it later.
Work in such footwear in a field.

They Would;
Ring before stripping, Quote Westwood, not"Faff about" hacking off the insulation.
Most likely use resin joints or Pillar.
Have threaded the cables Under the roots before jointing
Finish in half the time.

Fin(n)ish in half the time
I think the video in the OP was in Lithuania.

Speaking of joints, I asked what others do regards jointing 25mm² SWA. Seems the best idea that came of it at the time was break out box and crimps/heatshrink. It was impossible I gave up on that. The crimping wasn't holding properly. I was using a hydraulic crimper! But then at the height and position up in a ceiling on a ladder you just could not get the power to really get on it. So I got what I think @Pete999 suggested the Wiska shark. Lovely job it made of it. £60 quid though. Still it was hard forcing the cables into the the termination block from each side trying to pull them together and tighten up had to get another helper who did the one cable while I did the other. But very nice joint in the end. And yes it will be secured!Right old Cowboy joint IMG_4144.JPG - EletriciansForums.net

If you are using correctly matched cable, terminal, tool and die set, it'll either be done or you'll know it's not done. A crimp that 'doesn't hold' sounds like something was out of whack.

FWIW I use an old-but-good ratchet crimper that does up to 120mm². I've done 70mm² with one hand at arms length lying in a trench, can probably do 25 just pressing on the handle with one finger.

What would you have done to improve that joint @Pete999?
Used a proper UG jointing pack, tidied the site up a tad, Used a proper crimp tool, need I go on, or is it get at Pete999 week?

Why shrink the sleeves with heat when you can randomly burn them with a blowtorch! It must have stank. At least it will all be hidden underground.
