Hi,

I've moved into a 1920's 3 bed semi that needs a rewire. Currently got old wylex CU with rewireable fuses, sockets on skirting boards etc.

I'm after a rough guide on how much a rewire should cost. This is roughly what i'll need

Cellar - New CU, 4 x double sockets, 2 x lights
Garage, - 2 x double sockets, light, wiring to combi boiler
hall, 1 x double socket, wall light, wiring to alarm
living room, 5 x double sockets, light
kitchen/dining room, 6 double sockets, lights (wiring for spots in half and normal light in other half, also wiring so I can add under cupboard lighting), cooker circuit for dual fuel range cooker.
Bedroom, 3 x double sockets, light
bedroom, 3 x double sockets, light
bedroom, 2 x double sockets, light
bathroom, circuit for electric shower, wiring for heated mirror and wiring for underfloor heating.

If anyone could tell me roughly how much I should expect to pay, i'd be grateful. I'm in Halifax, west yorkshire by the way.

I know an accurate price can't be given without seeing the job, but I'm just after a rough guide so I'm not wasting electricians time coming to quote until i know i've got enough cash for the job.

Cheers

Rob

I'm editing this £2950 didn't include board cost and cert.

count up the number of points, including switches. say that comes to 60.multiply by 50 ( average price per point for standard plastic fittings ) = £3000. so between£2750 and £3500 i would say is a fair price
