Hi Guys,

I have been asked to rewire a shop but most of my work is domestic so Im not clued up on the commercial regs. Does my fuseboard have to have rcds protecting all circuits like it does in domestic, I dont believe it does does it.....? This is for a pizza shop so it has kitchens toilets but no shower rooms etc

The same general rules regarding RCD requirements apply to all installations. It's just that in domestic and commercial situations you may encounter different installation methods that may or may not affect the need to provide RCD protection on a circuit.

BS 7671 applies to all installations regardless of what they are. S

i'd be inclined to RCD sockets. reg. 522.6.101 will not apply for surface/trunked cables though.
