Earlier I unplugged my outdoor camara and noticed a bunch of rust on both pins of the plug.. The rust is mainly at the base of the pins closest to the plug itself.. I assume rainwater seeped in over the years which caused the corrosion.. How should i go about cleaning it off? Is it dangerous if i leave it how it is? I know corrosion increases electrical resistance but since theres very little amperage supplying the camara should it be a problem?

Is the plug/socket outdoors?

Yes it is.. Its under a porch but if the rain is falling the right way it couldve definitely gotten wet

Doesn't look like it's too bad, most of the contact area looks OK. Perhaps use some fine emery paper. I'd definitely protect it from the weather though going forward.
