My second post coming up and once again a 'hypothetical' that could become reality shortly...

Install a radial socket circuit in a garage supplied from a spare way in the consumer unit (RCD protected), all tests ok.
1. Presumably this requires a EIC and associated Schedule of Inspections?
2. Regarding the 'Presence of supplementary bonding conductors' box, would I be expected to go into the clients bathroom to check, or as it is not related to the work I carry out, do I put it as 'N/A'?
3. Assuming I check and find it is necessary but not there, what happens then... client only wanted some sockets in the garage!

Probably a dumb question to most of you but I'm on a steep experience gathering curve!

Unfortunately the powers that be at the IET et all spend little or nothing on marketing and rely on us poor individuals to persuade clients that things like this are necessary.

As a minimum you need to check/install bonding cables to the water and or gas (if metal incomers) PLUS make sure that the socket(s) are RCD protected......

Yes an EIC, stating the circuit you install and yes you need to complete all boxes.

Why is it hypothectical - sounds like a real job to me - are you registered as a Part P sparky?

Yes, been registered for a couple of months and had to sort a few things out before starting in earnest, this is a real job for next week and I was just making sure I was prepared properly by 'going through the motions' in my head and envisaging what needs to be done.
I can read regulations until I'm blue in the face but sometimes it helps to get an experienced view to back up your own interpretation.

Yes, there is a lot to absorb.

Do you have a copy of the Part P Doctor, or the Snags ad Solutions books? - they are worth having.
