How does a Dewalt start a Bosch collection?
Very good point..... and one I cannot answer. Can’t even blame alcohol. How does a Dewalt start a Bosch collection?
Just askin'.
Love the 10.8v myself. The sets with the torch are one of my favourites. Not readily available anymore though. PityBilly bargain for anyone that uses Makita gear. DHR263 body with case for £189 delivered - log in through Amazon business and get a VAT receipt if needed.
I bought one of these a couple of months back when they were at the same price and it's a beast. Dual battery does make it fairly heavy, but I use a 10.8V for lighter work, so this is a nice step up.

First torches I used in the 80,s were Makita. Again it was a drill and torch set (7.2v).A,real game changer at the time. More recently as I have been well served by the Dewalt 10. 2 v. Am actually on my seconD torch and it is without doubt the most powerful. I have had to date. As I mentioned earlier they are not so easy to come by as they wereNever had a torch that uses power tool batteries. Years ago they weren't very good and battery capacity was too valuable to waste, but these days it's more a combination of not being impressed by Makita's choice of torches and not wanting to drop that sort of money for something that doesn't tickle my fancy.
Youtubers all seem to rave about Unilite and it does seem as though they're impressive lights, rather than hype. Very expensive, but I recently saw the 500lm option at a reasonable price ... maybe tool threads should be banned - I don't need the temptation
DeWalt have always been ultra reliable and long lasting in my experience. I have some of the Flexvolt 54V kit and it's amazingly powerful. Most of my stuff is 18 volt Dewalt and I can't knock it. I have bought a couple of aftermarket batteries which have also lasted well.
Their lighting kit is good and with Flexivolt you have very similar performance to mains supplied tools.
Yes. I am definitly leaning more towards Dewalt myself. Can't fault its, reliability. Was a diehard Makita and Bosch fan but am gradually been won overDeWalt have always been ultra reliable and long lasting in my experience. I have some of the Flexvolt 54V kit and it's amazingly powerful.
But even the 18V stuff is good. I haven't need a mains powered tool for several years now.
All the DeWalt 18v batteries are interchangeable. From 1.2Ah up to 9Ah.Well, i bought the drill... Seems ok. The guy at the counter wanted me to buy the combi drill they had on offer as well.... but i declined.
Will be fine for rawlplug holes up a height, or even drilling through a wall, but dont fancy its chances of a 4" core for an extractor fan
Then, over the next few days realised my old Dewalt batterys were not holding charge at all, so back to Screwfix.
A day later, using the new combi drill to drill out 25mm holes through joists, and the thing starts smoking from the motor! Only drilled 4 or 5 holes and was using a new, sharp speed bit...
Took it back for a replacement... will make sure i send off the 3yr warranty card for both drills!
Just a small query though. The SDS drill comes with 4Ah batterys, the combi has 5Ah.... Are they interchangeable between drills? (Identical chargers, and both 18v)
I'm sure theres no problem, but want to check
Let the magic smoke come out then it will probably be fine,my new makita did thatA day later, using the new combi drill to drill out 25mm holes through joists, and the thing starts smoking from the motor! Only drilled 4 or 5 holes and was using a new, sharp speed bit...
