Discuss Seal on cut-out fuse in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

Jeremy Martin

I have just moved away from commercial engineering including some electrical work. I sat the part P course at TS4U and now intend to operate as a self employed domestic electrician.

Could someone tell me what to do if I had to remove the suppliers cut-out fuse? Could I remove it myself then request the suppliers attendance to replace it?

How have people got round this in the past?

Thanks for your assistance.

Best regards
Jeremy

Ah,

You must mean the seal that was missing when you got there. Buy yourself some seals off ebay, and reseal when you have finished. Do a search on my recent posts, i did one last week or the week before just about this subject, and the dangers involved and a sparky who got killed.

And welcome to the asylum.

Cheers...........Howard

Check this out, read the comments underneath the isolator, finally it seems someone has made a step in ending this nonsense of it being illegal to pull the cutout.
Last time I got an isolator fitted the guy who came was an old bench joiner, nice guy but WTF! surely we are more skilled in fitting isolators and pulling fuses.

Those seals always fall off!

It has never been illegal to pull the cutout. And it is illegal to work live without good cause. The DNO making a few bucks off your hard work is not good cause.
