Hi guys,

I am currently in the process of installing a new security light in place of an old one.

My security light has 3 wires coming from it.

The existing cable that joins to an internal switch has 4 cables.

I have wired up to matching colours of wire using Wagos and put in a box.

But I have one wire left over.
Presuming it's a switched live?

Where does this go please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The first image shows my junction box with the new light wire on the left, the existing wire to junction box on the right. And the left over cable covered in red tape.

The 2nd image shows where the existing cable joins into a circular junction box and from there if feeds into the mains and an interior switch.

yhe spare conductor would have been for a manual override from the switch.
