Hi
We've just moved in to a new house and it's got 3 outdoor security lights in the back garden. I've tried to trace the wiring back inside but I cannot find where it goes other than finding the ring that it's on. The plug (if there is one) could very well could be hidden under the attic insulation.

I'd like to replace them with lights with motion sensor plus a remote so that I can use them 'always on' .
Does such a product exist that is able to be retro fitted by a diy'er, would you be able to recommend one.

Could it possibly be wired rear entry into a socket? Is there a socket in a similar position inside to where the light is on the wall? If so as Midwest said be sure to add a fused spur

I meant for OP to have a butchers around his/her house, for an existing FCU, that might be feeding current luminaires. :)
