Search for homeplug powerline adapters on Google. It's by far the easiest way to transfer an ethernet connection anywhere in a house. You will need a pair of them if the home owner doesn't have them already. What they cost in value should more than be saved in time trying to route a cat5 cable neatly unless the router is right next to the inverter.

That could be a bit of a dreamer for me as the inverter is right next to the D.B so I can just wire a socket from the D.B, plug this in one end, and plug the other in next to the router. patch cables to connect the data side and I'm in bussiness?
Just need some luck with the monitoring side of things now!
Cheers!
