Shut off switch

Hi all,

Can anyone help with this:

I have a kitchen installation to wire in a restaurant. I will be coming off the existing DB running to the services.
There is a mixture of circuits from 6mm radials to 2.5mm ring mains.

I have been asked to install a push button cut off switch that will isolate all the kitchen power circuits.

Very possible, but I wanted to try to keep it as enclosed as possible.

Yes, I agree, assuming there are no lighting or fridge/freezer circuits to maintain, then I would install a contactor 'on the distribution circuit' to the kitchen DB.

Don’t go with the “lockable” PB.
A “latching stop” PB near the door will become the normal turn off for the kitchen. Hit the button and the proprietor assumes everything is isolated and safe. You still need the contactor.

Quite agree Tony, the key lock EM stop buttons, are generally used in industry, where the unauthorised releasing of the EM stop can lead to a dangerous situation, or be a health and safety issue....
