Hello guys

I am after some advice as regards signing off work the correct way / notifying relevant authorities.

Current I am full time on the books for a large utility company in which I am the qualified supervisor and hold my 2394/95 testing quals. Previously I tested and signed my work off on the niceic test sheet portal and the old QS used to counter sign at the bottom.

My question is this. My relative is an old time spark with a big contract wiring up disabled adaptation pods throughout the area we reside. 40plus years as a spark but never got his testing.

He has offered me the job of testing his work on a weekend and signing it off. The issue is I want to stay full time on the books where I am now.

Is it possible to set up a limited company for this contract so I can legit do this testing works.

Am I correct in saying I would need to register with a governing body in which I pay X amount per year and I will go to a few sites with them on a yearly visit.

Is there any alternative where I don't need to pay a governing body as I have the qualifications I have ?

Many thanks

might be wrong here, but the notification to LABC should surely be done by whoever installs the pods on site. you would just test and certify the pods. not sure about your mate's responsibility as regards any other legislation.
