I´m about to renovate a market stand into a snack bar and need to know if I´ll need Single-phase or 3 phase power supply. The stand is very small 11m2 and will have an electric 4 hob, extractor fan, a couple of small fridges, 1 small freezer, coffee machine, microwave and toaster plus lights. Any advice is much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

Would it not mostly depend on that the appliances require?
Do any of the appliances require 3 phase?
What are the power ratings of the appliances?
Whats the cost difference between installing single and 3 phase?

Hi, Thanks for the message. None of the appliances require 3 phase, the appliance that uses the most is the hob 7,4 kw. I've had a few of quotes, 2 saying I only need single-phase and the other saying I need 3 phase. The difference is 2 grand, so as you can imagine, I need to be sure!

Ok, then. I'd go with single phase, if none of the appliances need 3 phase and you save 2 grand on the install.
Why did some say you need 3 phase?

The OP has not specified the rating of the single phase supply and whether it's from a new DNO service or a tap off another installation. If it's a new 100a DNO supply then that would appear adequate based on the info provided.

Very true mate, but he has had 3 quotes, two of them saying single phase is suitable.
I'd hope that they would have all the info from the OP needed for estimating the price of the quote. Or things are really bad.

Come on then @Jake82 what was specified in these 3 quotes? What supply (Amperage) did they quote.

I might be missing it... but where is the power for this dis-board coming from?

What country is this in as that isn't normal UK terminology?

There is a Spanish flag against the OP, might be a clue!

As @DPG has mentioned above, there are posts with non UK flags but the OP's live in the UK and the questions are UK related.

I actually live in Outer Mongolia, but use a VPN to make it appear I'm in Barnsley.
