Hello!!

I need to install a 3 phase appliance (3x4kw) but there is only 2 phases in to the property so I was wondering if I could use a converter for that?

I have never used one before, only heard about them, could they handle the load? are they reliable? who sells them? etc etc I really have no idea and any guidance would be appreciated.

Regards,

Ty

No problemo, I gave you thanks :)

I've used them for smaller appliances like fans and pumps but I've never seen them big enough for the load you're talking about. They were Mitsubishi E720s but I think they're max is a 2.2kW load. Problem is any inverter drive catering for your load will probably need 50A single phase supply so I doubt you're going to find one off-the-shelf.

Why has the premises got a 2-phase supply and not 3-phase? Is it 2-phase and neutral? Is it 180degree split phase? Should make for an interesting installation spec if it is ;)
