Skirting trunking

Hi,
I've been looking at ways of routing cable around a room perimeter behind a skirting. I know that the skirting is not a safe zone so therefore 522.6.101 comes into play requiring mechanical protection of some kind.
How therefore does pvc skirting trunking comply? Could I hide the trunking behind wooden cladding?

Any kind of trunking complys because it acts as containment and is surface mounted so doesn't need to be in zone.

Trunking can be hidden behind. Cladding but must me protected by a RCD

I was considering running the cable in trunking then cladding in wooden skirting spaced of the wall by 25 mm battens. Strange how the regs give options of mechanical protection or housing in PVC. Doesn't seem logical but I'll take it!

Unless the accessories are on the skirting board.

I think the point is that if you can see that it's containment for cables, you're not going to try drilling through it. If you use PVC conduit or trunking and then hide it in something that looks like skirting, then that's not OK in my opinion.

The point I tried to make, is that if it's concealed then it must be treated as a normal buried cable, it must be rcd protected and within zone.
