What is best practice when replacing an existing SWA cable 3 core (old colours) with a larger SWA cable 3 core (new colours?)
Both the house and garage wiring are in old colours (single phase)

A) Would you sleeve the cable Blue sleeving on Grey and Earth sleeving on Black
so the cable will be Brown, Blue and Green /Yellow
Or
B) Red sleeving on Brown and Earth sleeving on Grey
so the cable will be Red, Black and Green / Yellow

Mark both ends up with appropriate (2 colour codes exist.....) sticker, sleeve new cable as needed and mark up neutral with a (n) at both ends existing circuits can be left then .

I'd use new colour sleevings and just make sure that you apply mixed colour warning lables on DB's and maybe the joint if it's an adaptable box for example.
