Hi - went to a client tonight to wire a two way lightwave smart master and slave switch. When connected as stated on instructions the light was permanently on and when the switch was actually pressed on the bulb flickered. When I checked voltage across the live and switch live terminals it showed as 50v when switch was off - any ideas what could be the issue? Thanks all

Check the bulb. If it's an LED, there may be compatibility issues.
You say you checked voltage between live and switch live?
Do you mean live to neutral, and sw live to neutral?

Also, double check the connections. The 3 terminals on both the master and slave are a live, a switched live and a signal between the 2.
This signal works on much less than 230v, so if you get the cables mixed up, and send 230v into this terminal, you'll fry the switch.

Hi - thanks for the reply

Sorry yes - l-n and s/l - n - the SW /L - N shows as 50v when switch is off?

I did ask him about the bulb as it was an LED one - he reckoned that lightwave said that was fine??

I used the spare L2 as the signal wire
The SW/L on its own and the L on its own as per instructions

I believe with the Lightwave products, they use a permeant feed through the switch, even when switched off, to operate the switch. In effect the lamp will still be receiving a supply when off to complete the circuit. Enough to operate the switch, but not enough to illuminate a lamp. Useful when you don't have a neutral at a switch, but you have to be selective with your lamps.

Think Lightwave have a list of compatible LED lamps because of that. You could check with them yourself.
