Discuss Socket adaptor in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

it's the megger leads that's the problem. buy a set of kewtec leads.

ihad the same problem with 1553 leads not working with lightmates. problem sorted by a very nice man at test-meter.co.uk.

the new megger leads are awful. god help the next megger rep i come across at a trade show!

I found the opposite. Was finding that when I moved the leads where they entered my 1730, the readings would change very slightly. This resulted in having to constantly null the damn thing. Megger replaced them with the newest leads and it's fantastic now.

could that not be because your old leads were worn? it annoys me that with the new leads you cannot pull off the croc clip and use the probe, as you have to pull the croc clip off and then go and get the probe bit and stick that on. and they don't work with lightmates, R2 lads or socket adapters. what was wrong with the old ones...

Megger told me to reverse the leads and it would work with the Kewteck socket and also the Megger testbox . I tried that and it didn't. A year later at the same trade show I raise this with Megger and he said I must have a set of the old new leads as the latest new ones can be reversed. When I have to get a new set I think I will be going for another manufacturers

They were only a year old and had been like that from new. It is annoying though that the ends have to be juggled all the time.
Don't need a socket adaptor, as there is a made-up Megger lead for that included, Also, as already mentioned, if you turn the leads around then they work with Lightmates.
