Hi am new to the forum, have recently become a MCS installer via NICEIC am struggling a bit to make my mind up about the design side of the job to either go for PVSOL or equivalent as i have had contact via a couple of companies that will do all the design etc and sell the kit but obviously more expensive that i can go and source myself.

I was also wondering what others do for system drawing. We currently get an architect to do the system drawings was thinking in changing this.

that all sounds exspensive! architect wow big bucks!not the time to be spending if FITT plummets! you soon get hang of what will fit where the only probs are if shading is a factor but you should be able to still sort out layout.Suppliers (some ) will sort layout out if u give size of roof and pic but u can use segans kit tool yourself (tells u everything u need in kit) plus cheaper than most suppliers! sma download to work out invertas FREE! YES pv sol offers solution for giving client FULL DESIGN pic and sap calcs but we dont advertise and jobs are from recomendations from other jobs weve done! Got loads of work ! my clients want quality job at good price (no bulls--t) and not loads of fancy paperwork just the min required by mcs,if FITT dont kill it in march then i will re-invest in PVsol but not at mo while i can manage on the free stuff!

We dont have a problem working out where panels should go etc and we also currently use segen website too which is handy (pity there customer service isnt up to much) The drawings are more for the mcs requirements for the handover pack. Do you just do a sketch yourself or take picture when you are done?
