Are 1.0, 1.5 and 2.5mm2 T&E cable extensions, made by longitudinal twisting, generous soldering, shrink-fitting of each conductor, taping to match the sheath overall thickness, then overwrapping with two layers of shrink fit (all done nicely!) ‘maintenance-free’ joints and hence able to be fitted and forgotten?

Opinions, please :)

Cheers, Mark

ps: Done carefully, insulation resistance Meggers off the scale at 1000Vdc

Id start at 526 of BRB and follow the cross references with regards to soldered joint mechanical stresses etc and then decide on its suitability for your project.
