My first house had ceiling heating .... in cold spells, you never walked around in bare feet!

The only benefit I could see there is keeping snow off the roof.
Unless there was a means of circulating the warm air.
UFH would seem to be the obvious choice..

That definitely wasn't the intention. The roof still had about 2 feet of snow on it, so was obviously very well insulated! I didn't see any means of circulating air!
