Made a bit of a boo boo and have replaced 10 standard light fittings in a stairwell for LED's without thinking about whether or not the staircase timer would work with it. It didnt!

Can anyone recommend a staircase timer switch that will work with 320w of LEDs? Ive searched on line and come up with an Eltako TLZ12G which can handle 400watts but then puts in a disclaimer that this needs to be dimmable LED.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I assume the issue is because the load is to low.
The lights will come on if you press the override switch on the timer. If I switch it back to the timer function they work once and then just wont be pressed back on again.
It seems as though the timer switch needs a certain load to reset itself.

Did they work ok before the lights were changed to LED?

It is essentially an electro mechanical switch, I do not understand why it has stopped because you changed the fittings.

Ive just found the ELPA8 timer switch data sheet and it says a max of 300w LED load. I've got 320 watts. I cant believe its that sensitive that it would not work due to an additional 20 watts.

That is the contact rating which over time may deteriorate or fail with excess current, it should not have stopped it working instantaneously.

Try this BELBEN make of staircase timer which is designed to operate LED lamps by incorporating zero crossing switching solid switches which are suited for controlling capacitive loads/leading power factor loads such as LEDs. - Staircase light timer switch ELPA 6 plus.
