Can someone please help/advise me, I figured this would be the best place to ask. I was training as an apprentice electrician a few years ago and completed 2330 level 2. I lost my job and ended up working in another industry for a while but now am wanting to go back and finish my qualifications. However, course codes/structures etc. have changed recently and I was told that simply going back to college and doing 2330 level 3 etc. would not validate me as an electrician. So I have been looking around the internet and found a lot! of conflicting information on the subject. So can anyone please tell me what exactly I would need to do to become qualified and if my 2330 level 2 is still valid or would carry any weight? Thanks in advance.

The 2330 is being replaced as far as I am aware with the 2365. Though some places still seem to have the 2330 level 3 available. (that is City and Guilds for you).

If you have completed 2330 levels 2 and 3 you would also need to take AM2 and complete the NVQ3 (C&G 2356) to complete your qualifications.

There is also the 2357 that includes the NVQ3 that may be a more suitable route in some cases.

This website may assist in clarifying the various routes available.
I am afraid I do not know the transferability of 2330 level 2 to other qualifications, it may be worth trying to get some sense out of city and guilds as to the qualification comparison for 2330 units.
