hi guys im a snips stripper when stripping cables to terminate although some argue that you can damage the end of the cable but i never seem to even mark the copper on t&e when i do it,

but im thinking of investing in some wire strippers and recommendations would be very welcome

do you prefer snips or strippers?

I use strippers for up to 2.5mm. 6mm & 10mm I rip back the earth & Use lions or stanley to strip the ends. Just what I prefer.

i use whatever is a. handy. b. quick. find the old 7/029 is difficult with snips, use strippers on this.

No one into ringing then...?

Never really saw the point in those automatic strippers till I spent time watching a sparks do some panel mods, lot more controlled than a pair of rotating croppers.

what evers handiest Prefer my croppers I use to have 2 sets 1 large and 1 small both from RS find the CKAuto strippers rwealy handy when doing lighting tho as no pull required

when I was an apprentice there was a young sparks who was chatting up a young secretary in one of the offices we were working in.
being a flash git he stripped the Neutral with his teeth and got a back feed from the neutral.
after he was thrown off the steps he was standing on,
he didn't get a date with the girl :)

personally I use snips or plyers

I am in the market for a really heavy-duty pair of cable croppers. They must be small enough so I can put them down my trouser-leg.Be able to cut 50mm cable fast with no noise, and lastly proof to about 11,000 volts or more.??

I use my long handled side cutters for just about everything, I use em as cutters, strippers, croppers, pliers, spanner, hammer, punch the lot...less tools I've got hanging off me the better.

im currently using the stanleys 210mm i think been waiting for them to break or wear out so i can get myself a set of ck 210mm snips but fair play to the stanleys theyve lasted aaaaaageeeeeesss
