Hi,

I have a combi boiler fitted in a local community hall that blew a circuit board due to a power surge last year. This was rectified at the time by the fitting of a new circuit board. The boiler is connected to the electrical supply by means of a switched fused spur.

Does anyone know if there is a surge protected spur on the market that I can replace the existing on with and prevent further problems? I dont want to go down the line of using a plug and socket as users then to pull the plug out and leave it cold for the next person.

Any help will be well appreciated

Yes there is such an item on the market, not sure but i think its manufactured by powerbreaker. Check out a quality wholesaler for information. If it proves difficult to get hold of you could change the spur to a socket and fit a surge arresting plug as these are available quite easily.
