The EC308 will obviously only worm on the long side of a 208 box.
The EC607 single gland earthing plate might fit the shirt side but you'll have to check.
 
As mentioned, the 308 earthing plate will fit the long side of a 208 box. I've recently done this for a series of outdoor lights where space was limited. SWA in/out on the long side, and a nylon gland on one end.
