Discuss Switchboard Clearance in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Ooh, I'd hedge your bets and post your question on a USA forum as well if you need info urgently. 99.9% of the guys on this forum are working to the UK 7671 electrical regs, there are one or two around with some working knowledge of the NEC but I'm not sure if they'll be posting over the holiday season.

...it'll be electrical trainee, everythings faster, bigger and dearer. That said, festive felicitations to our brother in the ion transference facilitation realm...that's ham-shank for "sparky" :icon12:

when one entrance is required, if switchboard is 1200A and over 6 feet

is that under condition 3 on Table 110.25 (A)(1) of the NEC

am confused

Do you mean 110-26, 110-25 is lockable disconnectors.

110-26 (A)(1)
Condition three requires a clearance between panels of 3’ for 1-150V and 4’ for 151-600V.

You seem to have sections of 110-26 mixed up.

You have to decide if 110-26(C)(2)(a) or (b) applies. Without knowing the layout of the switchroom there’s none that can help you.

You should also follow the recommendations in 110-26(C)(3) with regard to egress.
