hi,
Just reading through 'Connections' (ELECSA's magazine).
Found an article saying it was aright to use the green/yellow for a SL in a class II fan if you sleeved it both ends with a brown sleeve.
They cited 514.4.3 which in my book refers to PEN conductors saying it overrides 514.4.2 (thou shall not use the protective conductor for any other purpose)
Is ELECSA right?

Cheers

Thanks T,
Read the thread. My point is that the CPS (bothe NICEIC and ELECSA it seems) is quoting regs to back up their case that don't have any relevance. Like most people in the other thread I'm not going to start using the cpc as a live conductor!

Cheers

Except that 411.3.1.1 makes it impossible to do.

I would blame NIC (rather than Elecsa) as they often make up their own rules.

I wish people would read the BGB and not take notice of all these guides, best practices, magazine articles etc.

Seen this a few times especially in room stats, 3 core flex with the green and yellow used as switch line.

$250,000.00 fine here if you use a G/Y conductor for anything else than ecc, the problem is that someone could cut in the middle and not know that it is active (live for you guys) and bang their gone
