What they don't tell you is how many of your older freeview boxes will stop working after switchover this is the hidden cost and inconvienience to the end user of all this digital switchover
 
Indeed, they are messing about with some of the frequencies and are already starting to render some boxes and TV's useless.

My area switched over towards the end of last year I ended up with three duff boxes to go with the one that stopped working in the earlier part of the transition to digital
