Evening chaps,
I have been approached by a young lad with regards to taking him on. he has begun a course at college and on face value seems keen.
do any of yoyu know if there is any funding available from any governing bodies etc to help with the costs of wages, training etc.

I would like to give someone a helping hand but also dont have permenant flow of work for 2 people to justify taking somone on full time.

Hi,

As it happens, I did some quick research on this a few weeks ago for an electrician friend of mine.

If I remember correctly, the NAS (National Apprenticeship Service) will partly or fully cover the training costs. Am not sure how this funding is worked out though.

You will be responsible for the guys wages and the minimum weekly wage is £95 I think. The minimum number of working hours is 16 per week, but I guess that most firms employ the apprentice on a full time basis with an increased weekly wage to suit.
