a coil is connected to a 24v AC supply at 50 Hz. if the current supplied to the coil is 360ma and the coil resistance of 35(homes), determine the value of inductance

Let's have your answer first. We don't do homework but will help if you have a stab at it, remember to put your workings out up.
I'm not the apprentice just can't help him with it nor can the other 8 sparks that have seen it. It's been best part of 20 years since I did this stuff

X = 2ΠfL, where X is the reactance, f is frequency, L is Henrys ( not the vacuum cleaner, you muppets)

Not sure if this question is worded correctly? It's asking for inductance which would be the 35 Ohms already given. Unless it's asking for the value of the coil in Henrys which by transposition would be:

L= 35 / 2 x 3.124 x 50
= 0.11 H

not sure you have it there. work out the total impedance as X=V/I, then deduct the resistive part of the coil, then from the inductive impedance, work out the value of henrys a per the L=X/2Πf

probably using one of them new-fangled posh phones, the ones that ain't got red LED display like ours.The apprentice Question download (1) - EletriciansForums.net

which is the same 0.11 H

It's already given the value of total inductance as 35 Ohms (close to what you just got above).

So yea I'd say its asking for the rating of the coil in Henrys. The confusion is asking for the inductance which would be the 35 Ohms lol
