The price of these battery's are just ridiculous. I have seen the cheaper replica ones for sale but are they as good ? Or is it worth buying a genuine makita one ?

Yeah the lxt ones. I have seen them on eBay for 70 but are they the proper thing ? In screw fix there well over a 100

You can get the genuine ones from amazon for about £70. Had mine about a year, still ok. Have heard that the replica ones are just as good though.

A lad at work got a load of replica ones for one of his drills (Not a Makita though) and he said they worked just as well for half the price. Personally though I'd just fork out for the genuines.

I would not bother getting the genuine ones. All they are, are 15 cells strung together and put in a casing. The difference is just that the replicas have a brand name printed on the casing.

This all sounds good to me as all my power tools are Makita and use 18V 3.0Ah batteries.......but who sells unbranded ones and where can I get hold of them?

The makita original batteries have a stupid chip/pcb in them which causes problems. the replicas are fine. Look out for ones that charge in the makita charger, you could also find a replica charger to charge up bricked makitas but they are rare
