What's you guys opinion on room stat in bathroom, outside zone 2

I have a customer who wants a heated towel rail installed and controlled via a room stat that they would like in the bathroom to give an accurate gauge of room temperature

I thought it would be best to install the room stat outside zones and in bathroom itself, possibly at high or low level to keep even further out the way, or I even thought about going for a programmer/stat to give them more control

Anyone had a similar situation to this one?

If you really want to play it safe, fit a wireless (programmable) thermostat in the bathroom and the receiver outside the room or out of the way. Just make sure that the load rating of the receiver is enough, although I would expect it to be OK for a heated towel rail.

Edit: You can then put the thermostat within easy reach of the bath or shower if that's what the customer wants.

Then some uneducated muppet will come along and give it a C1!!

Most of us fit a lockshield valve on both ends of a heated towelrail and use it as a heat shunt / system bypass. Others fit a Thermostatic Radiator Valve. Others again would say sod that and fit an Electric Towel Rail with a built in thermostat and be done with it.

Similar issue we've placed a tamper proof stat pre set temp in bathroom's and en-suite's just today in fact all outside of zone 2 no issue I can think of , make sure rcd protected, and bob's you're mothers brother

You've confused this forum with the plumbing forum. Maybe you should put down the brown ale!

Not at all .. read my post #5 again - carefully - and you will see I addressed the issue of an ELECTRIC towel rail in the last sentence.

NO confusion on my part whatsoever. I gave answers relating to ALL types of heated towel rails - including electric ones.
