Hello Each...

My mate and his missus paid £4000 for a patio, a very very badly laid patio. He got the number for these chaps out of Trust a Trader (TaT).

These chaps even turned up at his work demanding extra monies and they had a big argument in his work car park and even threatened to go round his house and rip up the badly laid patio if he didn't give him the extra cash. So much for TaT..!

He paid up for piece of mind as he did not want any problems and did not want to report them for fear of comebacks...! They will never use TaT again and put this on facebook and are also telling all their friends and work colleagues (they both are marketing managers for two very very BIG high street companies by the way) to tell everybody NOT to use TaT.

But with regards to my last Thread (£500 for a CU with no certs) how do these chaps continue to get work and how do you trust TaT (which you obviously cannot) and how do TaT vet these guys especially as that is where some members of the public go for decent skilled and trusted (apparently) men or woman of the building trade and could end up getting tat..?!

Any thoughts..?

With my last Thread I showed the customer the legislation and left them to get on with it.

AY up each...gonna be hot hot hot this week

Anyhoo...I am absolutley shocked that after one week that not one person has replied to this Thread, not even a sarcastic response telling me that this is about builders and nothing to do with electrics.

However, Trust a Trader is for ALL trades it is where some of our customers go to look for respectful and responsible tradepersons, and it is where some of you have paid good money to belong too to get business so why no replies to this Thread...?!

Unless this thread has touched a nerve with you all...thats the only reason what I can think of, sadly..?

No mate, its because of the huge increase in new/old members flooding the site with intro's.

The only worthwhile recommendation of a persons ability is from a friends recommendation. I have seen appalling work by various trades working for the smallest and the largest contractors in the uk.

I'm definitely with bisto on this. (I mean gravy.... Or is it oxo? Definitely oxo! )

I believe all these sites are just like leeches. I've heard numerous things about them on the forum and never was it good things.
