Discuss Trailing edge dimmers, do they really get hot? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have a four gang dimmer, all four dimmers are leading edge.

Is it possible to take one of the leading edge dimmers out and replace with a trailing edge?

I have been told trailing edge dimmers get very hot and heat from the trailing edge dimmer might fry
the leading edge dimmers that are placed within the same enclosure.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks.

I think this is just scaremongering mate, I've not noticed any discernible difference between the types with similar rated dimmers from the same manufacturer.
