Discuss Trailing-edge dimmers for Tec Karda LEDs in the DIY Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

Welcome to the forum :)

Have you contacted the supplier - it does seem there is a option to have a dimmer supplied but yours didn't, dimmers sometimes have to be matched with the fittings.

From memory the pro can be programmed to either leading / trailing, its a bit of a faff to change but its in the descructions

What lamps did you put in the fitting? The one you linked to has 50W halogen lamps in it

The link shows lamps not included, and they are showing a fitting not using LEDs ... can you clarify the info for us as the previous post mentions, what lamps have you got?

My lights have 4 x https://www.dmlights.co.uk/osram_halospot_111~00TSP
Eight in total

DM Lights did recommend a Niko dimmer, which works intermittently. The Nico dimmer works correctly for a day or longer, but then only stays on for 10 seconds. However this dimmer does work perfectly with one set of lights connected.

It's mentioned that Varilight pro can be programed between the two operating modes, I did not know that needed to be done. Can you tell me how to program it

Mate they are very bright indeed, but I've got them in a big room and the range of brightness from min - max is perfect.... Surely this is not a difficult problem to resolve....

Also this problem is due to the transformers used on the lights and not the total wattage of the LEDs...if I leave one LED spot in each light I have the same problem.... As I mentioned above 4 x LEDs in one Light can be dimmed ..... 1 x LEDs in two lights caused problems with my Niko dimmer

The dimmer the supplier recommended is Niko 310-02700 dimmer....

You keep going on about leds......the lamps you have are halogen 50w. The dimmer or type of dimmer has no effect here as the transformer itself needs to be dimmable. Which looking at the data this fitting is. A bog standard 400w dimmer will work this, no need for electronic type.....go and buy a ÂŁ5 mk dimmer

Sorry, you are correct. My mistake for calling the halogens LEDs....... . I found a link to reset and change the mode of the my Varilight pro, so I'll give that another go......

Varilight pro works after resetting it. The expensive electronic Niko dimmer does work correctly with two sets of lights.
Thanks for your advice
