Hi,

Looking for some advice to get qualified, a fair while a go now I did a marine engineering apprenticeship (HND) with electromechanical training including industrial electrical maintenance and installation and then several years (10) as a plant engineer (ElectroMech) which included authorisation as Senior Authorised Person (HV) Approved Person Electrical etc and electrcial faultfinding HV testing etc. Now this was a while a go so I am no doubt out of date (been doing an office job for quite a while), but one thing I don't have is any real experience of domestic installation.. Any advice on best way forward...?

Thanks,

Dan

I’m assuming you are from the UK and I’m from America buts there’s people on this forum that can guid you. Good luck

You could either do an intensive course with various qualification and have the whole thing boxed off in a matter of weeks or you could go down thr college rout with doing 2365 L2/L3 (unsure if C&G take into account prior learning)

I’m all ways wanting to learn how other countries do their electrical. I’ve seen pitchers of 3rd world countries and that looks like a mess but it gets them by so they must be doing something right

I came from another country and sent my (Foreign) electrical qualifications to the JIB. They gave me a gold card as an electrician with a completed apprenticeship after which I have added 16th /17th Editions, 2391 Inspection and testing, 2396 Design and Verification. You should contact JIB and see what they require.
