Looking for assistance and advice. I have damp coming in my ceiling and it caused one of my lights to short taking out all the lights in my house. I changed the main fuse and turned the socket off for the dodgy light but still it keeps randomly making the 'popping' noise and I am worried about safety. My electrician is not answering his phone and I would appreciate advice as to the urgency of this being looked at. Thank you.

you will probably have a permanent L in the ceiling rose or light fitting. only cure is to isolate at fuse/MCB . take fitting down and dry out the connections.

As above,, or replace with another light (Like this) until the other dries out.

I think she's in Rugby, unless she likes playing rugby and misread the form...

is it a rose with a pendant drop or a fixed light on the ceiling. a photo would be nice.

unscrew the cover off the rose. if it stuck with paint, tap with hammer. then get a pic. and post it here.
