Here is our aerial. Looks like it is from ours but just wondered if it was an important part didn’t want to call an aerial person if not necessary

looks like half the reflector has broken off. if the TV pic. is OK, then I'd not bother till the other half joins it ready for the scrap run.
 
the reflector reflects the signal back and into the coax that's connected to the box just in front don't know the full technology, but it just works.

You missed out the 'driven element' that sits in front of the reflectors... it's this that is connected to the coax (or 'feeder' as it's more generically called). This type of aerial is called a Yagi...

also the PCB Baun that coaxes a Balanced signal
(opposing phases signals)
Into just the core of the coaxial cable.
..Since the change over plenty of transmitters are kicking out more power , so may be of little consequence.
Birds perching on it may not have helped !
