I have a small 3 bedroom flat with two electricity meters, both meters have been in the flat since 1992, I bought it in 1997. I have white meter heating (storage heaters) however no longer use them. The readings seem incredibly unreliable as some months can be £100 and the following month can be £450. I have asked Scottish power to upgrade them and make them into one meter, no luck as they have offered no help whatsoever really and just keep fobbing me off. Is it possible for me to replace these meters and put in one meter? I will use a qualified electrician. Then I will be able to get a smart meter, as I cannot move electricity company as everyone is saying I am not smart meter ready. Sorry for the long winded rant.

TL;DR
Two electric meters in one flat, how do I upgrade them to get a smart meter?
A picture speaks a thousand words, any chance of a photo showing both meters and any other electrical stuff in the same area?

a regular electrician cannot change the meters for you, this must be done by your supplier.

Seems strange that Scottish Power aren't champing at the bit to offer you a smart meter...

Been trying to get Scottish Power to change a meter since March 2018.
Eon recently offered me £50 to change to a smart meter. If they can offer that to me, they, and all the other suppliers, can offer it to everyone, so don't just roll over and let them fit it.
