i have a cosmetic problem that i am looking for an answer for.

got a bedroom that has 2 way and intermediate switching in place

at the main switch is the three core and the live and switched live
at switch 3 there is the other end of the three core and also bedside light switch, which is 1 way for over that side of the bed
at switch 2 there is the intermediate switch and a 1 way bedside light switch for that side of the bed.

currently switch 2 is on a grid plate as it has 1 normal and 1 intermediate.

big question is can i remove the intermediate switch and somehow use a normal 1 or 2 way switch so that a normal plate can be fitted,

i dont think its possible but my brain is small.

there could be a prize for a useful answer

No, you need an intermediate switch.
You might be able to use 2 intermediate switches though - one used 'conventionally', the other for the bedside light.

my own solution to this is a blank plate cut to fit over the mk grid plate switch holes so that it matches the rest of the installation, works perfectly just need to find a company that can cut the plates to spec. might seem drastic but better than changing the plates in the whole installation to match

Use a Click/Scolmore 2G plate and swap one of them for an intermediate. Simples. You'll have to ask at a proper wholesaler.
