Hi, Underfloor Heating probe checked and not working but in a position not to be re-inserted, what are the infra red sensors like, any suggestions.
Cheers

What is it installed under? Tiles / wood / something else?

You're meant to use conduit to thread the probe through, as the underfloor heating will have upto a lifetime guarantee, but the probe and thermostat only 12 months. And they do go from time to time too.

You can either try and install another one as near to the floor where the heating is as possible. Or change the settings on the thermostat to use the air sensor only. Sometimes it means taking the faceplate off the unit and changing a couple of small pins or switches around.

Let us know a bit more and I might be able to advise you.

The ones I have fitted were designed to be withdrawn.
If you cannot get it out without major problems I would go with changing the priority of the stat.

They always state the probe is to be fitted so it can be changed if need be but it isn't always possible. Agree with above comment get it near as you can to the spot but most likely change the settings to air sensor, should work fine.
