Used Rcbo's Yay or nay??

Been asked to carry out some bathroom work including new spots, underfloor heating etc. The existing DB is an old Square D board with no rcd protection at all. Customer wont pay for a new DB, and ive priced a drop in rcbo....... £177 each. Passed this info on to the home owner, and hes complaining (surprise). He's asked me about used ones from eBay etc. Normally i would just say no but there's a few quid in the bathroom works so im trying to find asolution. So, the big question.... Used rcbo yes or no?? I did explain to the home owner that i could offer no guarantee whatsoever for the rcbo if purchased second hand.

I did think of that,but the cupboard its in is already quite cramped. What is really getting on my nerves is the fact i know how much he's spending on the en suite and bathroom,and hes twisting on about £177!!

Breaking into ring and using Rcd fcu for the underfloor heating.Using existing lighting circuit, and installing new flexes for the spots.

According to the 18th Ed an rcd spur is not listed as a device for providing additional protection.

I did ask the guy at Parks if the price of the Rcbo included him fitting it.... Original i know.

I wasnt too sure, but tech support at Stroma said it was fine.

If it’s a square D - Domae range then a new Schneider Easy 9 RCBO will fit straight in and with manufacturers blessing....

I have been through this myself and it’s posted on here somewhere.....

Neweys and Parks both quoted me around the £170 mark. Neweys were the cheaper.
