Discuss Voluntary work in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Megan, Ive read your previous posts with interest and if I may make a suggestion.

There are many local authority schemes available for funding new businesses by way of a grant. As you say your husband doesnt have much experience in electrical installation but I understand that obviously getting him working quickly is your priority.

With this in mind, if it was me, I would concentrate on PAT testing. Its far less demanding than electrical installation and The equipment can be bought for a few hundred pounds and a local marketing campaign calling into businesses with flyers etc would I am sure get some money coming in. Some of this cost could be covered with business developement grants. Its a way in to the trade and he can concentrate on getting the odd day or two electrician work when he has a stable income from the PAT work.
