wago connectors inside conduit box

hi all just wanted to check something re wago connectors (lever type) i cant find anything in the regs that suggests that they cant be used inside a internal conduit box or suitable enclosure for connecting single core cables to flex for outside light. the box will be accessable for inspection and testing, only thing i can think of is the connectors wont be fixed to the actual box. any advise would be appreciated.

thanks i thought so, so the fact the connectors are loose inside the encloser doesnt matter ? i guess the conduit prevents any strain on the cable

have my elecsa assessment monday morning so just did a final check and thought should i have used a fixed JB instead, but i thought the wagos would be suitable thanks for the reassurance

As long as there is no strain on the cables then perfectly fine. That is why there is the cable-tie facility in the Line enclosures.
Agree with tel, far better than choc block.

no real strain the single cores run within the conduit to the encloser and the flex runs to a light rear entry, so i guess theres no problem.

If possible, take the flex out of the conduit box using a cable gland (with adaptor). Guaranteed no strain at all then

good idea, but not really possible as flex leaves conduit box via the rear and only goes through 2inch of garage wood frame above door and straight into light, (rear entry) so there is really no possible strain on the flex.

Sounds good then. A cable tie or 2 on the inside of the box (with some tail left each side) as strain relief would be a good idea though, in case someone replaces the light fitting in the future.

or a bloody big knot in the flex.

do you mean fix the cable ties to the inside of the box ?

i would gunge some sealer round the back entry cable, or fit a 16mm stuffing gland. just make an enlarged hole in the masonry behind the box.

sounds like a plan, stuffing gland behind box then flex totally secure, as im doing that i will replace conduit box with a adaptaable JB with fixed terminals for the connections. thanks for the advice

Obviously, you can't beat using a gland, but yes, 2 cable ties inside the box with some of the tail left on will act as strain relief when there isn't room for a gland.

No room for the gland wooden joist/frame just not thick enough so just fitted 2 cable ties to the flex and single core cables inside the box worked like a dream the tail on the tie stops the cable from being pulled out the box thanks tel cool idea. instant strain relief. thats all the i's dotted and t's crossed now roll on monday
