Mm never thought it might be a radial and not at home just now to review but will have a look. Thanks for the advice. AppreciatedAre you sure its a spur from a ring, and not a radial circuit direct from board? (likely 32A breaker if ring, 16A if radial)
If it is a spur from a ring, can it be modified to become a fused spur? (unswitched fuse plate next to socket on ring before the branch)
As this thread, and the other similar thread linked above, the letter of the law in the regs book says no spur from a spur, and it mentions "points" whether that be a socket, or in your case a fused connection.
Safe, but not technically compliant.
Thanks James. Now that is a coincidence
keep an eye on this thread.
3a FSU downstream of a spur socket from RFC - compliant?
Have a 3a FSU that feeds an adjacent WC light and fan, wired from a socket that is a spur. Even though we all know that it's safe (no different to having a 3a plug top in the socket), can't quite make up my mind if it's compliant or not. Thoughts?www.electriciansforums.net
Turns out this was a spur from another socket. Decided to call in a pro. He is dropping in a dedicated circuit from a spare on the consumer unit. Thanks for the swift replies. Are you sure its a spur from a ring, and not a radial circuit direct from board? (likely 32A breaker if ring, 16A if radial)
