Water heater wiring advise please

Hi all can someone give me some advice on what kw heater I can use with this speck
Fuse board b32 rcd
Cable 2.5.....10 metres long just for water heater (nothing else conected)
Water heater will be in downstairs clockroom and use just for hand washing.
What size in kw can I use and how can I connect

A 2.5mm radial connected to a b32 mcb is unlikely to comply with the regulations and is likely to be dangerous.

Hi thanks for your reply I had a new consumer unit fitted and the electrician was informed that it was going to be used for a small water heater.

A standard 2.5mm2 Radial would be on a 20 Amp OCPD

and it all depends on the installation method of the 2.5mm. if method C, then it's good for 6kW max. if in insulation, 3kW max. but that's pushing it to the limit, so I'd be inclined to downsize those figures to 5kW and 2.5kW respectively. as Rob said, the 32A MCB is OK as it's a fixed load.having said that, a site visit is needed to confirm.

Thanks pete999.... if I get the ocpd changed to a 20 amp will it be ok to run a 3.5 to 4 kw heater on it ....thank you

Hi telectrix thanks for your reply ......the cable runs under kitchen cabs up though a stud wall without insulation into a loft space above the insulation,so if I read your info correctly it will be ok with 3.5 to 4 kw ?

As i read it, the circuit had already been installed by a spark, but without a water heater on the end of it. OP wants to fit one and is asking for advice on what size he can get. even so, i's get a local sparks to check the circuit and advise accordingly.
