400 year old building with a damp problem, sandstone so not much chance of sorting it anytime soon.

Plasterboard with 30mm gap which has a membrane to stop moisture migration but the dipstick who installed the socket cut through this.

Customer is happy to remove socket and fit blanking plate I just need to joint cables on RFC to maintain the ring.

Anyone recommend a decent JB that will provide decent protection against damp that wil fir in a 25mm 2G backbox?

Self amalgamating tape?
Crimps and heat shrink?
Can't think of anything that would fit in a 25mm box.

What about an underground torpedo joint with the resin mix or the jelly stuff?

I’m sure there’s a small JB comes with the gel, but can’t remember the name just now

I was thinking about a gel pack type JB but TBH @ferg reminded me I do have a load of amalgamating tape so I might just go with that. There'll be a blanking plate fitted so its still accessible.

I did recommend the landlord sort the membrane out which he probably will do in the future but he does have more pressing issues such as a damaged roof and dodgy plumbing to sort out which would actually reduce the damp on the wall.
