Hi I'm trying to connect up a wet underfloor system to a ferroli combi boiler it's wired through a poly pipe single zone wiring master , the question is how do I wire up a switch live from the wiring centre to the boiler when the boiler needs a perm live to feed hot water on demand can't see anywhere on the boiler to connect to apart from the obvious l/n/e and the n/closed loop which is low voltage .I spoke to there technical dept I might as well phoned good Samaritans much use as a chocolate fire guard he told me to take out the live feed to the boiler and take an additional wire from the wiring centre marked 230v and join in a connector inside the fused spur tried that knew I was wasting my time nothing need perm live all the time hope someone can throw some light on this problem rob

If the side that is wired for room stat, which is where I'd of thought you'd wire to, is low voltage, then you can't just wire direct to the boiler.

Is the polypipe not low voltage?

That's what I thought poly pipe single zone master unit has a terminal clearly marked 230v to connect to the boiler so you can't connect to the low voltage terminals on the boiler .ive already taken a 2 core from the boiler stat terminals to the master unit which are clearly marked pretty much idiot proof but spoke to the guy from the tech dept and he said I needed that additional wire overriding the boiler feed which I thought was bizarre considering it is a combi ah well back to the drawing board

There's a few Combi's listed On their site: Brochures & Manuals | Ferroli, Italian boiler manufacturer, domestic and commercial heating technology | Ferroli UK

Fig 39 has a reasonable diagram, try asking their technical helpLine about the Remote probe connectors use (although it is on the same connector set as the themostat, which it clearly says must have volt free contacts).

The only other option is to include a relay in the equation, but then you'll have to find somewhere to mount it.

Are there any valves being used or is it UFH only on the heating side?

If your wires are worn and your still using it, you should ask for help.... do something... its dangerous.

Hi aprillove it's a wet system not a electrical mat or element if you're referring to an electrical wired underfloor.
